The Edible Gardens of Versailies
A lecture presented by Pierre David of France and wine tasting led by Antonio Mauriello. Born of the will of Louis XIV, the King's garden at Versailles epitomizes the art of the French garden in the seventeenth century. To this day, one can discover the geometrical order of its planted parterres and walls covered with their rows of espaliered fruit trees. But what does the King's garden teach us today? Why should this garden, which is a part of the world and a world in itself, still interest us?
