How to apply for the housing financial help ?

You may apply online on the CAF website in the étudiants section.  You must then print the application and send it to CAF along with the required documents (rent, receipt, proof of scholarship, proof of income etc.).  You have 3 months to apply.  You must state your moving-in-date in your application, not the date when you submitted the application.  International students who are not European Union nationals must also include a copy of their residency card in their application.

Before you begin, collect the following information:

When is housing financial help deposited?

Housing financial help is deposited starting in the month following the entry date into the accommodation.  In every case this means you will be responsible for the entire first month’s rent.

For example, you begin renting on September 1.  You will receive housing assistance for the month of October, which is paid in November.

What is retroactive assistance?

You have 3 months to apply for housing assistance.  You must state your moving-in-date in your application, not the date when you submitted the application.

For example:  you begin renting on September 1 and you apply on December 1.  You must indicate in your application the start of rental date (September 1).  You will then receive a single payment of housing assistance for October, November and December.

How to apply to housing assistance if you live with roommates or with partner in relationship?

-If you live with other people in an apartment, the name of each tenant must appear on the lease (rental contract) and each person must submit an application to student housing assistance.

-If you live with a partner (in a relationship), you must submit a single application for both persons.
