The dossier of preliminary application (DAP procedure) can be printed  every year between November 15th and January 22th.  It must be print, filled out and submitted to CampusFrance by January 22 (stamp postmark).  This is a mandatory procedure for foreign students wishing to be enrolled in the 1st or second year of university in France.

Following students are exempted from the DAP procedure (preliminary application):

-holders of the European baccalaureate, international or french-german

-students part of interuniversity exchange (government program)

-French scholarship recipient

- foreign refugees or stateless persons recognized by the French Office for the Protection of Refugees and Stateless Persons (OFPRA) (and, where appropriate, the opinion of the Director of the Office, applicants who have not yet obtained the benefit of this status )  

-children of diplomats stationed in France,
 

-citizens of the European Economic Area and Switzerland.

To know: foreigners, future owners or holders of the French baccalaureate spent abroad, European or French-German, must conduct their pre-registration on the website entry-postbac.

French examination

As part of the admissions process prior, foreign students must pass a comprehension of the French language. This review is organized by the Centre international d'études pédagogiques (CIEP). It includes a test in the form of multiple choice questions (MCQ) and a test of written expression.
These tests are designed to assess the level of understanding of the French language of the student and his ability to follow a specific course of higher education.
The review is not free. For the academic year 2015, it is 68 + fees of the center.
Some students may be exempted from the test of knowledge of French for the application first. This exemption relates to:

• those states where French is the official language,
non-French students, from the French bilingual appearing on a list drawn up jointly by the Ministries of Education and Foreign Affairs,
Advanced Diploma holders in French (DALF), levels of C1 or C2 Common European Framework of Reference
holders of diploma in French (DELF) B2,
• Candidates who have passed the test organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Paris and received a score of 14/20 in the written tests of this test.

Composition of the file
If the student lives in France and does not possess or does not prepare the French Baccalaureate, French-German, European or international, must complete a green file folder called. Folder for international applicants residing in France who are not owners or future owners of the French Baccalaureate, French-German, European or international.

Documents required
The applicant must provide all documents requested in the explanatory note attached to the file to complete.
  These parts must be accompanied by an official translation in French.
They vary depending on the situation of the applicant school or university.

Submitting the application and assessment tests
The complete application must be filed before January 22 preceding the academic year, the Embassy of France or the institution where it was removed.


A dated receipt is given to the candidate. It must be carefully preserved.

The assessment tests knowledge of French place, for the year 2015, before March.

Favorable response to the application for registration

The property listed in the first selection rule on the application before April 30 and communicates its decision directly to the candidate.


If the answer is positive, the choice in the host institution must be confirmed by mail for final registration. It is advisable to keep a copy of this letter.


The first application in the first grade enrollment is not a final registration and does not relieve the applicant to produce for listing the individual record form.


The host institution directly notify the student the necessary documents for registration and the deadline.


Refusal to the application for registration

In case of refusal of registration, the establishment appearing in the first choice immediately transmit the record and the documents accompanying the 2nd setting chosen by the candidate in his application.


The 2nd setting ruling on the application before May 31 and communicates its decision directly to the candidate.


In case of refusal of registration, the establishment appearing in 2nd choice immediately transmit the record and the accompanying documents to the third setting chosen by the candidate in his application.


The third institution decides on the application before June 30 and communicates its decision directly to the candidate.
