Book an appointment for your visa request

To better welcome the public and reduce waiting times, the French Embassy in Canada will outsource the collection of visa applications to VFS Global. You can no longer go to one of the French Consulates for your visa application.

The first step is to book an appointment online exclusively on the France-Visas website, which is now the dedicated portal for visa requests for the France destination.

The four visa application centers in Canada are:

  • VFS Global France Center in Montréal

Unit 820, 1010 rue Sherbrooke Ouest (access from rue Metcafe)

00000, Montréal, Canada

Call center: +1 613 927 92 66 - from Monday to Friday, from 9am to 4pm

Fax : 514 878 627

  • VFS Global France Center in Toronto

  • Ottawa (opening on July 12, address to come)

Appointments are mandatory for visa applicants and will be taken on this address: https://france-visas.gouv.fr/en_US/web/france-visas

A service fee will be charged and will be payable online when making an appointment.

To facilitate the process for students and others who do not live near an application center, a mobile visa application service may be offered. For more information about the Mobile Biometry Service, please see the following link: http://www.vfsglobal.com/France/Canada/English/index.html

Other important information

The CEF procedure is not applicable in Canada. This procedure no longer exists in Canada (since 2011), students applying for a visa to France do not need to provide with a CEF number. If while you are booking your appointment on the France-Visas website you are asked to enter your CEF number, please leave the space blank or indicate N/A as it does not apply to Canada.

The SCAC procédure (or Notice from the Cultural Services): If you are not a Canadian citizen AND/OR you are going to France for private studies (meaning, not part of a university exchange program), you'll need the Attestation SCAC for your visa appointment. Please fill out the proper form and send it with the requested documents.
